God Bless the Children
Welcome to the official Web page for the God Bless the Children
project! An impressive number of Nashville recording artists have
united to record a new song and video “God Bless the Children”
to emphasize the need to find families for the more than 119,000
children that are available for adoption in the U.S. foster care
system. Once released, all proceeds from the sale of the song will
support the efforts of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption,
a public charity dedicated to increasing adoption awareness.

The video is being created by multi award-winning director, John
Lloyd Miller, and an impressive list of country music stars have
jointed together with the Nashville production community to offer
their time and talent to ensure that this project is a success.
We know that when people hear this song they will be inspired to
help these waiting children. If the lyrics and images in the video
can convince even one person to find out more about adoption, then
we have accomplished what we set out to do with this project.
Adoption from Foster Care
According to the most recent data, there are approximately 119,000
children in foster care in the United States who are available for
adoption.
Since 1987, the number of children in foster care has nearly doubled,
and the average time a child languishes in foster care before being
adopted is more than five years. Each year, approximately 20,000
children will age out of foster care without ever being placed with
a permanent family.
