This project came to light when a Nashville songwriter
shared his song God Bless the Children with the Dave Thomas Foundation
for Adoption and Children’s Services, an office of the New
Jersey Department of Human Services. Both organizations agreed that
the song expressed passion for the cause and welcomed a partnership
which was formed to create this event.
We are recording and filming a “We are the World “ model
recording that will receive high visibility throughout the national
network media outlets to create awareness for the cause. The national
media will cover the session and engage high intensity exposure
for the event.
All proceeds from the sale of this recording will go to the Dave
Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Sales will be made through digital
downloads on the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption web site as
well as many other outlets. Placements for sales of singles are
also being explored.
Multi-award winning filmmaker, John Lloyd Miller, The AV Squad,
will direct the video. John is best known for “The Dance,”
by Garth Brooks, “Go Rest High on that Mountain,” by
Vince Gill.
GMMB, the nation’s leading issues communications firm, will,
on behalf of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, work to develop
an “earned media” strategy that promotes the God Bless
the Children effort, including outreach to a major mainstream and
entertainment-focused television, print and radio outlets. Specific
television outlets would include the morning and evening news shows
as well as major talk and entertainment programs at ABC, NBC, CBS,
FOX and CNN. Outreach to print would likely include appropriate
editors and reporters at the top 10 major U.S. dailies, as well
as entertainment and news print weeklies, like People and Newsweek.
Radio outreach would be targeted at news directors at major country
music networks and stations in key markets nationwide, as well as
entertainment talk radio.
